Museveni Deploys Top Officials to Investigate Claims of Undisclosed London Properties Owned by Speaker Anita Among
President Yoweri Museveni has mobilized Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Foreign Affairs Minister Jeje Odong to liaise with the UK government regarding allegations concerning undisclosed London properties owned by Ugandan Speaker Anita Among.
Following a report from the British High Commissioner and sanctions imposed by the UK citing corruption.
Museveni seeks clarity on the matter, as stated in his May 11th, 2024 letter to the Attorney General. The President emphasized the importance of addressing these allegations head-on, reaffirming that no baseless accusations against Ugandans would be overlooked.
This follows UK sanctions against Among and two other ministers for alleged corruption.
Despite records from Deputy IGG Dr. Patricia Achan Akiria indicating no UK property under Among’s name, and her own vehement denials of owning anything in the UK stating she doesn’t have “even a pussy cat” there.
The President demands thorough clarification of these serious allegations.
